Biohazards

Biohazards are also called Biological hazards. A biohazard is an organism that causes a hazard to the human health and body. Biohazards contain samples of microorganisms, medical waste and viruses that can impact the human health. Biohazards can also contain harmful substances for the animals. The term of biohazard and the symbols of biohazard are used as a warning. The HCS logo of biohazard also utilizes the same symbol. There are four different levels of biohazards, level one to level four. Many different types of bacteria, like Bacillus subtilis, canine hepatitis E and vericella are included in the first level. Level 2 includes hepatitis B, C, influenza, Lyme disease, salmonella and scrapie. Biohazard 3rd level contains Anthrax, BSE, smallpox, tuberculosis, yellow fever, typhus, mumps and West Nile Virus. Fourth level of biohazards has Bolivian fever, Ebola, Lassa virus, Dengue fever, Hanta virus and many different hemorrhagic diseases. The entrance and depart of the fourth level contains numerous showers, ultraviolet room, a vacuum room and other safety measures that are designed to remove all the signs of biohazards.

Biohazard symbols can be recognized very easily. All the symbols of biohazards are designed to warn about the dangerous materials and locations. The use of biohazard symbol is being kept up by the law and also directed by standard associations. The symbols of biohazards may appear with several colors, signs, backgrounds, supplement information and borders, in order to identify the type of danger. The international symbol of radiation was appeared in 1946 at the University of California.
